The Resort

Champery, Switzerland is located on the Swiss-French border in the heart of the Portes du Soliel, one of the worlds largest ski areas, linking 13 resorts with over 700km of pistes.

At 1000m Champery is a small traditional Swiss mountain town below the spectacular Dents du Midi and Dents Blanche. It is very much a friendly resort with all the facilities of town so you can make your evenings as lively as you wish. With its warm welcoming hotels, eating , drinking and chatting with friends are the order of the day and we believe that your visit will be all the richer for it.

The Skiing

With the main lift rising straight to 2000m we will base our training around the large snow sure bowls. The resort has extensive skiing for all levels of telemarker from the cruising blues for perfecting those new telemark turns to the steeps and gullies of Les Croset and hidden powder stashes that still hold fresh lines days after new snow. All this before you spread your wings and explore the vastness of the Portes du Soliel.

Accommodation

We now have a main base in Champery: Chalet La Rose des Alpes with 18 bedrooms sleeping 52 is run by our friends at Alpine Tracks. The hotel has everything that you will need for your winter holiday including it's own bar, lounge, WiFi internet and the Tele-Masters ski hire shop. The package price includes your course fees, half board accommodation, and transfers from Geneva airport. At peak times we also use the Hotel Suisse (through Alpine Tracks), the Hotel des Alpes which offers a warm welcome and great food on a half board basis. Our other base for clients seeking bed and breakfast accommodation is the British run Chalet du Nord which has a homely atmosphere and again all rooms are ensuite. There is a cosy lounge and bar and Gillian's husband runs a superb restaurant downstairs so you never have to go far for a good meal.

Champery also has a number of other accommodation options including self catered apartments (we have a one bedroom apartment available through Tele-Masters, phone for details) and you are also welcome to make your own arrangements.

Getting There

Champery is ideally located for Geneva Airport with its scheduled services from BA, Easyjet, Swissair and others. The return transfer is run by Alpine Tracks who will meet you at Geneva and take you to Champery. At approx 8 hrs from Calais, self drive is also an option.

Tele-Equipment

There is very limited local equipment hire for telemarkers, but for those without equipment, Tele-Masters can supply top quality boots and skis at a cost of £100 per week and we bring it to your accommodation the evening before your course. Packs must be pre-booked at least 4 weeks prior to departure. click here for more information
